ദക്ഷിണ ആൻഡമാൻ കടലിൽ 2020 ഏപ്രിൽ 30 നോട് കൂടി ഒരു ന്യൂനമർദം രൂപപ്പെടാൻ സാധ്യതയുണ്ടെന്ന് കേന്ദ്ര കാലാവസ്ഥ നിരീക്ഷണ കേന്ദ്രം അറിയിച്ചു. ശേഷമുള്ള 48 മണിക്കൂറിൽ ന്യൂനമർദം കൂടുതൽ ശക്തി പ്രാപിക്കുകയും ആൻഡമാൻ നിക്കോബാർ ദ്വീപുകൾക്കടുത്ത് കൂടെ മുന്നേറാനുള്ള സാധ്യതയും പ്രവചിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. ന്യൂനമർദത്തിന്റെ രൂപീകരണവും അതുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് ഉണ്ടാകാൻ ഇടയുള്ള മോശം കാലാവസ്ഥയും സൂക്ഷ്മമായി നിരീക്ഷിച്ച് വരികയാണ്.

മത്സ്യബന്ധനത്തിനായി കടലിൽ പോകുന്ന മത്സ്യതൊഴിലാളികൾ കാലാവസ്ഥ വകുപ്പിന്റെയും ദുരന്ത നിവാരണ അതോറിറ്റിയുടെയും മുന്നറിയിപ്പുകൾ കർശനമായി പാലിക്കേണ്ടതാണ്.

As per the forecast guidance from various numerical weather prediction models and the environmental and thermo-dynamical conditions prevailing over the region, a Low Pressure Area is very likely to form over south Andaman Sea and neighbourhood around 30th April 2020.
It is very likely to intensify further during subsequent 48 hours. It is very likely to move north-northwestwards initially and then north-northeastwards along & off Andaman & Nicobar Islands during 30th April – 3rd May 2020.
The system is under continuous surveillance and  the concerned state governments are being informed regularly.
