National GI Policy

All Geographers are hereby requested to go through this document (which some of you might have heard about or read about at some time)

This was supposed to become a policy but unfortunately Govt. didn't give it a priority. (For whatever reason)

I would like to request all of you to kindly circulate this with all Geographers in India.
Please add/make sure atleast one person from each University, gets added in this group within next 2 months.

This was one chance to bring some ground breaking policies for pushing GIS into mainstream but it didn't see the light of the day ever.

If we, can atleast get this implemented in a State, the same thing can be done nationally also. May be then the GOI may take notice.
